MVP development for startups

MVP development services for startups: what we deliver, on what terms.

We build your product’s first version (SaaS, web or mobile app) on a tight scope. A SaaS MVP starts at €12,000 and ships in 4 to 6 weeks. Capped quote; the code is assigned to you in writing and handed over once the project is paid.

The service

An MVP service takes your first version from scope to production.

Our MVP development services for startups cover the path from an idea to a first version that real users can sign up for: scoping, screen design, build and go-live. Not a clickable mock-up: a product in production, ready to charge from day one when it is a SaaS.

What’s included.

Scoping in week 1, with a written scope and a capped quote. The design of every screen, validated before the build. Weekly sprints with a demo every Friday, the go-live, then 30 days of fixes.

What can wait.

Everything the first version can live without: secondary workflows, extra integrations, admin screens. What your first users actually do with the product decides what comes next, not the specification.

Who it’s for.

Founders and companies launching a new product without a technical team, or who would rather not hire one before the product has proven itself.

What we deliver

Three kinds of first version, each built to grow.

The scope changes with the product; the rule does not: one workflow that proves the need, in production, on a base the next version can build on without starting over.

SaaS

SaaS MVP

One core workflow in production, with client accounts and subscriptions, on a tight scope. The base of the full SaaS, not a throwaway prototype.

Published ranges

What an MVP costs, and what a full product costs.

Ranges from our cost pages, published in euros. Not a firm price: after your brief, the quote has a ceiling.

After launch

Who owns the code, who maintains it, and what if the MVP doesn’t validate.

  1. 01

    The code and the accounts.

At delivery, once the project is paid, the source code, the accounts and the documentation are transferred to you. No proprietary license locks you in: any team can pick the product up.

  2. 02

    Maintenance.

30 days of fixes are included. After that, you choose: an optional monthly upkeep plan, quoted according to what it covers, or a clean handover to your in-house team.

Ask for the upkeep price together with the build quote: it is a yearly cost to plan in your budget.

  3. 03

    If the MVP doesn’t validate.

That is what a tight scope is for: you learn with the smallest stake that still puts a real product in front of users. Their usage tells you whether to change the core workflow, build the next feature or stop.

Upkeep is optional, so nothing ties you to us. How to set that scope is the subject of our SaaS MVP development guide.

Before you sign

What to check before you hire an MVP partner.

Seven questions to ask any MVP development company, the proof that answers each one, and our own answer.

What to checkThe proof to ask forOTTOPILOTE’s answer
Is the price capped? A written quote with a maximum amount, before work starts. A free, capped quote. No firm price before the scope is written.
Is the scope written down? The features in the first version, and the ones left out. Scoping in week 1: a clear document and a signed quote before any code.
Who owns the code? The intellectual property clause, and when the transfer happens. You, through a written assignment, at delivery once the project is paid.
Who maintains it after launch? An upkeep offer, or a written handover plan. 30 days of fixes, then optional upkeep (quoted) or a handover.
Who pays for a delay? The clause that says who absorbs the extra days. We do: if we’re running late, we absorb the extra days.
How will you follow progress? The demo rhythm, and where the work is shared. A demo every Friday and a shared Slack.
Has the partner shipped before? Published cases, with the product name and its go-live date. Quorum, a legal SaaS in production since June 2026.

Our other projects are on the missions page. Already have a tech lead and want developers under their direction rather than a delivered product? Compare a dedicated remote team and a project studio first.

Case study

Odiwise, a product in use before it is finished.

Financial audit software for real estate projects. The build is not finished yet, and the client already works with it.

01 · The starting point
Heavy financial analyses, scattered across spreadsheets, slow to produce and easy to break the moment a figure moves.
02 · What we are building
We are turning it into a real product: structured data entry, automated audit calculations, clear deliverables, instead of fragile Excel sheets.
03 · Where it stands
The build isn’t finished, but the client already uses it: part of the analyses that used to take hours is now generated reliably and reproducibly, with the data in one place. The client has even pre-sold the software to a first buyer.

Frequently asked questions

What we get asked before signing.

Another question? Write to us: a human reply within one business day.

How much do MVP development services for startups cost?

Our published ranges: a SaaS MVP from €12,000, a mobile MVP on one platform from €10,000 to €30,000, a full SaaS from €25,000 to €100,000 and up. They are ranges, not a firm price: after your brief, you get a free quote with a ceiling.

How long does it take to build an MVP?

A SaaS MVP ships in 4 to 6 weeks on a scope frozen at kickoff, a mobile MVP on one platform in 6 to 10 weeks, an internal tool or dashboard in 6 to 8. A full SaaS in production takes 8 to 12 weeks.

Who owns the code after the MVP is built?

You do, once the project is paid: the assignment of rights is written into the contract, and the source code, accounts and documentation are handed over at delivery. There is no proprietary license, so any team can take the product over.

What happens after the MVP launches?

30 days of fixes are included. Then you choose: an optional monthly upkeep plan, quoted according to what it covers, or a handover to your in-house team. The next features are decided from what your first users actually do.

Do I need a technical co-founder to work with an MVP agency?

No. You need one decision-maker who knows the customers, answers questions and validates each step. If you already have a tech lead and want developers under their direction, a dedicated team may suit you better.

What is the difference between an MVP and a full product?

An MVP keeps only the workflow that proves the product is needed: from €12,000 and 4 to 6 weeks for a SaaS. A full SaaS adds several users and roles, connections to your tools and the robustness to hold real load: €25,000 to €100,000 and up, 8 to 12 weeks.
